STRONG FINISH SEALS TITLE FOR KANG

Three birdies in her last four holes saw Sime Darby Jimin Kang win by one stroke LPGA Malaysia.

Kang is triggered, a six-under par 65 in her last round in Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club at ending before July Inkster, bogeyed finally at hand her rival title at nine over par.

"It is not easy to do for me; I played fast.I hit many of putts, "said Kang, who knocked in a 12-foot putt on the last, for what proved the winning bird.

"You guys can say, my score was good enough to win a tournament, and you know, it's been a while I try to drag it.

"I knew where I stood. all I knew was that I was in the top five sometime and I noticed I played pretty darn good at the end."

By Kang, carded Inkster seven birdies but, unlike his opponent-Korean she collected three bogeys including the crucial at 1700 to register for a four-under 67 and finish the tournament eight in pairs.

Inkster bidding to become the oldest winner on the LPGA tour but the 50-year-old never recovered from hitting her second shot to 1700 to a Manchester bunker after four birdies in five holes from 13 had seen her take the lead.

"I just the edges of my shot and I missed it, I missed it right," she said.

"It was a three-quarter sides shot and I left it out.

"And you know, I played well throughout the day; the last hole Jimin birdied, she played good."

Mika Miyazato and Maria Hjorth finished tied for third at 6 under par after rounds of 69 and 71 respectively.
